Durban Green Corridor supports sport development projects in townships and aims to uplift disadvantaged communities. Sport is a particularly good way of engaging young people from informal settlements and rural communities and to encourage them to take part in organized activities. Very often schools, especially in rural areas, do not offer any extracurricular and organized activities so Durban Green Corridor's youth programs indeed cover a significant need.

Annually, we engage hundreds of school children in various youth development programs, sport activities and environmental education programs. Once the children come together, enjoyable outdoor activities are linked with ecological understanding and an appreciation of clean nature. Mountain Biking and Trail Running are the most developed youth programs so far as well as the DGC Environmental Club.

Coach - KwaDabeka

KwaDabeka runs a sport program three days a week. You will support the coaches by supervising and introducing new games to the children. You are free to teach them sport games from your country and have bike riding sessions on the pump track on site.

You as volunteer will support the sports development program for local school children in eNanda, a Projectsite of Durban Green Corridor. You will be engaged in youth empowering and sport projects, what will allow you to develop your leadership skills further. You also get the chance to practise your coaching skills within the sports program. Daily activities will be assisting as a coach in the existing sports program and teach the children new types of sport games. Right next to the Site is a big bike park/pump track where you can join our coached in the Bike Program. You will also get insights in the Site Management while assisting at the administration Office and you will help at the Durban Green Corridor Events if required. Part of the program is to experience the ecotourism activities for Durban Green Corridor. The eNanda Site offers Mountain Biking, Canoeing and Hiking Opportunities nearby. You will support the Durban Green Corridor Guides with the tours.

Coach - eNanda

Durban Green Corridor is proud of the MTB Youth Programme that has been established at the eNanda Adventure Park at Inanda Dam. At least 4 days per week, a regular group of children meet to grab a bike and get out on the surrounding trails to enjoy the rush of the sport but also the beauty of the natural surroundings. The bmx training on the recently established pumptrack is carried out 7 days a week.
