The Durban Green Corridor offers various ecotourism activities to the public. Cultural tours as well as guided nature hikes, canoeing and mountain biking with the aim to deliver an authentic experience to tourists. Our Ecotourism volunteers will assist in developing and packaging tourism experiences in rural communities and along our routes and various other tourism related tasks. 

Marketing skills are desirable, because we are still developing new tourism products and market them via our website and social media accounts. The volunteer will also be involved in administrative planning at the site, helping with event organization and daily issues.

Ecotourism Packaging

Durban Green Corridor acts as a tourism agency to promote sustainable tourism around Durban. We offer various “Green Activities” on our sites and elsewhere around Durban. Volunteers will assist in developing itineraries and packages for clients as well as managing them in our booking system. S/he will also assist in consulting clients about our offers. IT/skills are desirable and a high interest in travel and tourism out of the mainstream.

Tourism Development

We always try to upsize our tourism product offerings. The volunteer would be assisting with product development and help to develop our tourism routes further. This involves making business plans and writing funding proposals. S/he will also be working with local communities helping them to earn money with tourism. We run homestay programmes within rural areas around Durban and offer coaching to families within the tourism business.

 

Graphic Design

Durban Green Corridor hosts numerous of events during the year. The Graphic Design Volunteer will assist with the creation of suitable marketing material for the events and our tourism products. S/he will also assist in terms of marketing and with the promotion of upcoming events via social media. The volunteer will also be involved in the preparation and the set up of our events.
