“To keep the body in good health is a duty… otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear” that is the quote Durban Green Corridor has adopted as it will be hosting the June 16 annual event in held at Enanda Adventure at Enanda Township in the Durban.
The fun day will be a 5 kilometer trail run for 9-13 year olds and 10 kilometer trail run for 14-19 year olds. This event aims to promote healthy living through exercise and mental wellness through fun interactive activities.
We all know that wellness consist of a healthy mind, a healthy body and healthy soul. All three have to be in harmony with each other in order for a person to be considered healthy and well. As June is a youth month, the Durban Green Corridor decided to their part in helping the community and groom the youth of today in teaching them healthy lifestyle tips and encouraging healthy living.
The event will be well attended since DGC is working closely with the local schools and community members in terms of event management. School buses will also be on site for collection and dropping off participants after the event. Local youth artist will also provide entertainments in dancing, singing and poetry. The DGC understands the importance of community upliftment which is why everything will be locally provided. The month of June is the most important month for the youth of South Africa, not only because it reminds us of 1976 but because it reminds that we have a chance, a future and the opportunity and with that we can change tomorrow if we put our minds our minds to it but we can only do that if we are here and the only way to be here is to look after our mind, body and soul which is why we should listen to Jim Rohn
“Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.”
